ANNISU-R strike continues | Enters Day 2



All Nepal National Independent Students Union- Revolutionary (ANNISU-R), affiliated to the Mohan Baidhya-led CPN-Maoist has shut down all the higher secondary institutions across the country on Sunday and has announced to continue it further on Monday.
Coordinator of ANNISU-R Sharad Rasaili said that strike was called demanding to change the foreign names of colleges, scrap the high fees structure, and remove the hoarding boards, among others.
Education in 576 schools has been halted today due to the closure & is set to continue further tommorow as well !
The Union has called for changing the name of those higher secondary schools that follow typically foreign words.

“We have to launch a protest since the foreign names of higher secondary schools have made a mockery of nationalism,” said Union coordinator Sharad Rasaili.

The Union affiliated to Baidya led Maoist party on July 16 and 17 had vandalised buses belonging to Kist Nursing College, Chitwan-based CITAF College and Ratobangla School, Lalitpur.

It had also vandalised the Florida College based at New Baneshwor and South Western State College based at Basundhara.
